The fish learn to like tubbing.

 

Behavior #3: Ride

GOAL: Fish will enter a small plastic tub and calmly accept being carried in it.

PURPOSE: The tub will be used to transport fish back and forth from home tank to training tank.

METHOD: 1) Use target stick to lure fish to the tub. 2) Feed inside tub.


Criteria (what fish must do for reward):

1. Follow the target stick up to the mouth of submerged tub.

2. Swim inside the tub.

3. Stay for 5 seconds.

4. Stay in the tub while it is increasingly tipped toward the surface.

5. Stay in the tub while it is lifted out of the home tank and back in.

6. Stay in the tub while it is lifted out of the home tank and carried to the training tank.

√ = This step has been achieved.
